COVID-19 INFORMATION

West Louisville Performing Arts Academy
COVID-19 Policy Statement

The West Louisville Performing Arts Academy (WLPAA) is committed to providing a safe and healthy space for all our student participants, parents, staff and visitors.  The Academy promotes the following COVID-19 plan, which includes policies and procedures to minimize the risk of transmission of COVID-19, in accordance with current CDC Guidelines as well as local and state recommendations and mandates.

According to CDC guidelines:

  • The WLPAA recommends universal indoor masking for all students, staff, adults, and visitors regardless of vaccination status.

  • The WLPAA follows the recommendation for fully vaccinated people who have a known exposure to someone with suspected or confirmed COVID-19 to be tested 3-5 days after exposure, regardless of whether they have symptoms.

The Academy plays a critical role in promoting equity in learning and health, particularly for groups disproportionately affected by COVID-19. People living in rural areas, people with disabilities, immigrants, and people who identify as American Indian/Alaska Native, Black or African American, and Hispanic or Latino have been disproportionately affected by COVID-19; these disparities have also emerged among children.

For these reasons, health equity considerations related to the K-12 youth we serve are a critical part of decision-making and have been considered in adopting the CDC’s updated guidance for organizations serving school age youth.

The West Louisville Performing Arts Academy fully embraces, observes and recommends to its parents, youth and staff the following Prevention Strategies recommended by CDC

Prevention Strategies

CDC recommends universal indoor masking, physical distancing to the extent possible, and additional prevention strategies to protect students, teachers, and staff. Schools should not exclude students from in-person learning to keep a minimum distance requirement; layering multiple prevention strategies is essential when physical distancing of at least 3 feet is not possible at all times.
