Performances of The West Louisville Performing Arts Academy

The West Louisville Performing Arts Academy boasts a rich history and tradition of expanding the horizons of the youth who belong to the academy.  Below you will see a few of the experiences captured in pictures that enrich the young people of the academy, inspiring them to greater achievements and accomplishments. 

The West Louisville Boys Choir 1st Annual Reunion

The West Louisville Performing Arts Academy began in 1990 as a Boys Choir.  The Academy hosted its first ever Boys Choir Alumni Reunion Saturday February 26, 2022 at the Kentucky African American Heritage Center.  The Breakfast featured special honorees and long time supporters of the Choir and Academy Lacey Smith and Barbara Sexton Smith. 

During the breakfast, various alumni shared memories about their experiences with the WLBC and memorial testimonies about members who are no longer with us.  The event was a great success and well attended.

Bobby Ellis Memorial - Dare To Care Event 11/21/2021

The West Louisville Performing Arts Academy participated in a Memorial for young Bobby Ellis, a 9 year old young man whose death from  starvation in the heart of Louisville, Kentucky ignited the Dare To Care Food movement.  The Academy was invited to commemorate the life you Bobby Ellis through song and a candlelight vigil. 

Louisville Juneteenth Celebration 06/19/2021

Louisville, Kentucky played host to multiple Juneteenth Celebrations across the Metro.  The West Louisville Performing Arts Academy was featured at one of the most prominent celebrations in the Business District of Downtown Louisville at 4th Street Live.
